Asia Pro Distribution China

Why China

1.4 Billion Consumers. The Market That Changes Everything.

China is the world’s second largest economy and the largest e-commerce market. A successful China launch does not just add revenue, it transforms your brand’s global positioning. International brands listed on Tmall Global, JD Worldwide, or in RT-Mart signal something that opens doors in every other market.

The challenge: China’s distribution landscape requires a local partner who speaks Mandarin, understands the regulatory system (GACC, SAMR, CCCOC), and has relationships with the right importers and buyers. Our team operates in Chinese, no translation layer, no miscommunication.

How International Brands Sell in China (2026)

Tmall Global / JD Worldwide

Cross-Border E-commerce

The fastest path to Chinese consumers without SAMR registration. Tmall Global (Alibaba) and JD Worldwide (JD.com) allow international brands to sell directly from bonded warehouses, no China entity, no full product registration. We manage your brand flagship store setup, product listing, and daily operations in Chinese.

Douyin Shop (TikTok China)

Social Commerce: Always an Option

Douyin is China’s TikTok, and its social commerce volume now rivals Taobao. Live streaming, KOL short videos, and product drops on Douyin can generate brand awareness and sales faster than any other channel. Social commerce is always an option in China, often the first revenue before full e-commerce store setup.

Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book)

Discovery Commerce

China’s premium discovery platform, 300M+ users searching for product recommendations, brand reviews, and lifestyle content. Xiaohongshu KOL seeding (小红书 KOL) is the #1 method for building brand awareness in China before launching e-commerce. We manage Chinese-language KOL content strategy.

WeChat Mini Program

Brand Direct Commerce

WeChat’s 1.3B monthly active users make its Mini Program e-commerce a direct-to-consumer channel for brand-loyal customers. Premium brands use WeChat for loyalty programs, member-exclusive deals, and CRM. We build and operate WeChat brand presences in Chinese.

Sam’s Club China / Costco

Premium Membership Retail

Sam’s Club China (48 locations, growing to 100+) has become the breakout imported food retail channel. A Sam’s Club listing in China creates viral social proof, consumers share “Sam’s Club finds” on Xiaohongshu. Strong for food, health, and consumer goods that benefit from bulk format.

Offline Distributor Network

Traditional + Modern Trade

City-level importers and regional distributors covering Tier 1 (Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen) and Tier 2 cities. Essential for food service, B2B, and brands targeting supermarket chains (Freshippo, RT-Mart, Ole’ by CR Vanguard). We match by city, category, and channel.

Our Process

How We Launch Your Brand in China

1

Regulatory Mapping (GACC, SAMR)

We identify what your product needs: GACC food facility registration (for direct export), SAMR product registration (for food health claims), or cross-border e-commerce clearance (fastest path, no full registration). We do this in Chinese, directly with the relevant authorities.

2

Chinese Brand Localization

Your website, brochure, and product packaging need Chinese-language versions before any Chinese distributor or platform operator will take you seriously. We produce Chinese brand materials: 中文产品手册, Chinese brand name (品牌命名), and Mandarin social media content (小红书, 微信, 抖音).

3

Distributor or Tmall / JD Launch

We match you with the right Chinese importer or e-commerce operator. For fast market testing: Tmall Global or JD Worldwide flagship store. For offline distribution: city-level importer with proven retail access. E-commerce is always an option in China, and usually the first step before committing to offline distribution investment.

4

KOL + Social Commerce Growth

Xiaohongshu KOL seeding, Douyin live commerce, and WeChat brand account management. Social media in China is the primary consumer discovery channel, without a Chinese social presence you are invisible to the consumer, regardless of retail listing. We run Chinese social media in-language, not translated.

Asia Pro Distribution China team

Chinese Language

We Operate in Mandarin. Not in Translation.

China’s distributors, platform operators, and retail buyers do not work in English. Negotiations happen in Mandarin. WeChat communication is in Mandarin. Legal contracts are in Chinese. Brands that rely on translation lose nuance, trust, and speed.

Our China team handles all communication, contract review, and negotiation directly in Chinese. Your brochure, website landing page, and product descriptions, we produce all of it in native Mandarin, not machine-translated English.

  • Chinese brand name creation (品牌命名) that resonates with local consumers
  • Chinese product brochure and packaging copy (中文产品手册)
  • Xiaohongshu, WeChat, and Douyin content in native Mandarin
  • Mandarin negotiation and contract management with distributors

What Our Clients Say

China Distribution Results

“We launched on Tmall Global through Asia Pro in 90 days. By month 6 we had a Xiaohongshu KOL campaign running and Sam’s Club buyers were approaching our distributor. The Chinese brand name they created for us tested exceptionally well with consumers.”

“The difference between our previous China attempt and working with Asia Pro was language. They negotiated directly in Chinese. The importer we ended up with would never have taken a meeting without a warm introduction in Mandarin.”

FAQ

Common Questions About China Distribution

What is the difference between Tmall Global and regular Tmall? +

Tmall Global (天猫国际) is the cross-border e-commerce platform, international brands sell from overseas or bonded warehouses, no China entity or product SAMR registration required. Regular Tmall requires a China entity, SAMR product registration, and Chinese labeling on all products. Tmall Global is the fastest path to Chinese consumers (90 days to launch vs. 12 to 18 months for full registration). Most brands start on Tmall Global and build toward offline distribution as volume grows.

Do I need GACC registration to export food to China? +

Yes, for direct export to China. GACC (General Administration of Customs China) requires registration of overseas food production facilities for most food categories (meat, dairy, aquatic products, and others). For cross-border e-commerce (Tmall Global, JD Worldwide), GACC facility registration requirements are less stringent. We map your product category against current GACC requirements and identify the fastest compliant route to market.

Is Douyin/TikTok China important for my brand? +

Douyin (China’s version of TikTok, separate platform) has 900M+ monthly users and a social commerce GMV that rivals major e-commerce platforms. Live streaming commerce on Douyin moves product volume in real time, a single KOL live stream can sell thousands of units in hours. For food, beauty, health, and consumer goods, Douyin is not optional, it is the discovery engine for Chinese consumers under 40. Social commerce is always an option in China and often generates faster initial volume than Tmall setup.

Do I need a Chinese company to distribute in China? +

No. For cross-border e-commerce (Tmall Global, JD Worldwide) and for working through a Chinese importer/distributor, you do not need a China legal entity. Your Chinese distributor imports under their own license. For offline retail distribution at scale, or to operate your own warehouse in China, a WFOE (wholly foreign-owned enterprise) becomes relevant, but that is typically an expansion step, not a market entry requirement. We help you structure the right legal arrangement for your stage.
